Hall History

The building was officially opened by Her Excellency Lady Fergusson, the wife of the Governor General, on Friday 21 April, 1967. Glen House had, however, already been in use as a Guide and Scout Hall since 1962. The Hall’s charter states that it is to be used primarily for youth groups and over the past 50 years Guiding and Scouting groups, Playcentre, and School Holiday programmes have enjoyed the Glen House facilities.

Glen House has recently been extensively refurbished by Auckland Council.

Glen House Society

The Glen House Society Inc. was formed to administer Glen House for the use of community groups in partnership with the previous Manukau City Council and since amalgamation, with the Auckland Council.

GirlGuiding NZ Pakuranga Peninsula

Pippin, Brownie, Guide and Ranger GirlGuiding groups currently use the Hall on some afternoons and evenings. If you or your daughter is interested in GirlGuiding, contact Christine Kendrick at 027 272 9114 or pakurangalocalcoordinator@gmail.com.
